RIP David Bowie

I’ve had an earworm in my head for days now, since I heard that David Bowie died. STARMAN. I have to say that David Bowie was my Starman, my Thin White Duke, my Ziggy Stardust, back in the day. I have not listened to him as much recently but he has always been part of the Soundtrack In My Head. Many, many times he was my muse. He fueled quite a few daydreams and night dreams, and oh boy did I love to watch him move.bowie-thin-white-duke1

I had a friend back in the Thin White Duke days, who scoffed at me when I told her he was, for me, one of the sexiest men alive. I told her to watch Thin White Duke and let me know what she thought. I saw her the next day and I knew before she spoke that she understood. She said, “Sonofabitch, that man can MOVE!”

I just smiled.

There’s a Starman waiting in the sky
He’d like to come and meet us
But he thinks he’d blow our minds
There’s a Starman waiting in the sky
He’s told us not to blow it
‘Cause he knows it’s all worthwhile
I won’t quote any more for fear of overstaying my welcome at the “Fair Use” station, but I’ll tell you, he knew:
It’s all worthwhile.
